Where u take SBI or ICICI they will not tell you the date on which the actually transaction was taken place. Yes its right that they keep money with them for 2-3 days and remit only when they see that exchange rate will increase.
I have used both, in my personal opinion SBI offers good rate than ICICI.
Again, this may be not correct because we don't know the time they update their web site to reflect the current exchange rate.

As Pappu mentioned, the $ 64,000 figure is not a typo. That indeed is the money that was spent by him individually. Logiclife and others made trips to DC,air travel, hotel etc.. does add up real fast. All the expenses on these travels have been borne by the individuals and have not been reimbursed. More than 99 % of the IV funds has been used for advocacy efforts and getting council.
The kind of commitment shown by Aman and logiclife is unparallel and they deserve our salutes and wishes. Also, do not forget to contribute to Immigration Voice. What we have achieved is interim relief, there has more work to be done in the future.

IV core is doing a great job. One can't ask more of these great guys (and gals)!!
Although I support the idea and my spouse would be benefited by it, allowing H4s to work is a whole different ballgame and way more controversial than the current IV agenda. Your spouses will be able to work once you and they get EADs (although I know you will have to renew annually)...this is way more reasonable.

You guys are amazing.. I have one hypothetical question.. Please pls let me know what you would have done in the below scenario. I think a simple yes or no answer is what I am looking for.
PD is Apr 06 - I-140 approved - Currently Unmarried � WILL TAKE ATLEAST ONE YEAR BEFORE I GET MARRIED - My Spouse will be residing in India at the time of marriage - Spouse would not have any valid U.S visa (H1 or L1).
I have read this thread and others, and I think I understand a little on how the process works. I am looking for your gut-feeling answer if I should apply for 485 or wait till I get married. Let�s assume that my marriage will take place only after one year from now.

Sure if your ideas are good and conceivable Core team would defly work on implementing it. Dont be an outsider, try to get more involved. Again if you want to be part of the Core Let Aman & Co know, they should be able to delegate you some responsibilites.
Just like you, everybody is frustrated with the lack of progress. But we do understand our limitations, we can only educate the lawmakers with our issues, but we cant arm twist them to do something favorable. We have to keep our expectations right. && she told she was not aware of cases where NSC has created rejection letters and sent them also she added they just completed june filers and will be starting to proceed with JULY .
Now reg. my processing times:

Second the idea of using an ATM card for this purpose. You can get an ATM card for your parents or relatives in India from your local credit union or bank in the US.
How does this ATM thing work? Do you give your family in India your own ATM card/PIN or do you request the credit union to issue ATM cards for your family.
I just checked with the credit union I have account with and they said, to issue ATM cards to anyone else they (the person) should have SSN# and they should be made joint account holders. This is not possible when you are planning to give the ATM cards to people in India right?

...but remember it can be pure coincidence that your letter to 1600 Pennslyvania made any difference. Moreso when the namecheck and the approval..all happened within 2 weeks of the letter !
Anyways no harm trying any and all legal ways !

AFAIK, once you work on EAD, you can not be back on H1B. Please check this with your lawyer.
However what I do not know, and what my lawyer also could not answer till this point is, if after travelling abroad using AP, can one transfer same H1 to a new employer? I know it is possible to continue working on H1 with the same employer. But what if one need H1 transfer?
Suppose you work for Company A on H-1B. You get out of the U.S. and come back with AP. You become parolee at that time. File an H-1B extension with Employer A, get new I-94 that indicates your status is now H-1B.
6 months later, you get another job with Employer B. Since you already are on H-1B with Company A, you should be able to transfer your H-1B to Company B.

This is truly unfair where country of birth determined who gets an 'Employment' based greencard before someone else. It can only be fixed by eliminating per-country limits.
Yes it is unfair in some ways. Couple of my very close friends (who are also colleagues) --one is of Lebanese Origin, raised in Dubai, and the other, Taiwanese Origin, raised in Uruguay. They are in similar Finance positions as I (though I am a step senior) had the entire process, from the PERM, to card delivery, completed in 11 and 7 months, respectively. Whilst I am waiting the last 5+ years. It can get you down at times, and feels like living in a constant state of "temporariness". However life does go on :)
